just blogging

So, i have been looking for all the little small things i want and need to pull the wedding together. i have found most of them at Joann fabrics for cheap and dollartree.com. i wish i could see it all put together to make sure i like it first, but that's not going to happen. i plan on heading up to the ranch soon to see it again, they have set the tent and everything up. i cant wait to see it. the bridesmaid dresses have started coming in, and way early at that! my dress is all finished and hanging at grandma Judy's for safe keeping. i have started figuring out the cake and such! I'm way excited for that part. i need to drag Bryan in to figure out tuxes and make sure the boys all get fitted. i have been slowly working on the invitations but ran out of black ink so my printer shut down on me. i ordered some more today so i can finish these things up. the cost of mailing them is gong to kill me ha ha. Bryan and i picked out our wedding bands, so when we go to buy them, we know what we want. we had some 'engagement' type pictures taken not too long ago at picture people while we were getting our family pictures taken. jaxx was strapped into his stroller and kept giggling and pointing at us the whole time, it was funny. overall planning hasn't been too bad, the most stressful part is budgeting. i cant wait to see what it all comes together as!

Bridesmaid shopping

So, my bridesmaids that could make it ( Margaret, Liz, Misty and Christine) and I took off yesterday to Davids Bridal to check out their dresses. The original color I liked (cognac) was way different in person. It was more pale and cute if your a manican. So we decided to go with the same dress but in dark purple (lapis. I loved how the dresses looked on them. They looked super comfortable. We got a few funny pictures and I decided to try on some wedding dresses that we didn't like. I pretended I have'nt found my dress yet and we grabbed 3 dresses that were huge, one was even ivory. They were not so great especially on me. The last one I tried on was so heavy! I could never imagine wearing it all day. We got some fun pictures of them too. It was a blast. I'm pretty sure we drove out consultant nuts!

Afterwards we went over to the Clackamas mall and I showed them my actual dress. It wasn't all poofed out like it should be due to storage, but they all loved it, or at least they said they did. lol. But, I still love it and that's all that matters! :)

Grandma Judy and I are going to pick it up on Wednesday and get it sized for altering then about two weeks later, it's all mine! Well after that we went to Claim Jumper's for a late lunch. It was fantastic, except Misty's cold fries. She got new ones, and our food was yummy. We decided to think about dessert and Misty was telling us about this huge piece of cake they have. None of us believed her. So, she asked the waitress to tell us how big it really was, and the waitress brings us a HUGE piece of cake (that was almost the size of a normal sheet cake) and said it was on the house for the fries being cold! I normally don't eat chocolate but it was AMAZING! We planned some possible dates for the bridal shower and bachlorette beach getaway. We are all pretty excited! We might have a surprise at the wedding for our guests! Well that's it for now!

My dress.

My dress was easy to find! And, the only one i even tried on.
Grandma Judy and I were Christmas shopping in Clackamas mall, and walked out of
Sees candy and there it was in a window of a bridal shop. I pointed at it and said that's my wedding dress. Problem was, I had no ring yet. So, I text Bryan and told him his grandma and I just found my wedding dress but there was a problem, I had no ring. So he text me back asking if I was proposing to him. It was pretty funny. So we went and finished our shopping, but I had to go back and take a picture of it so I could look and see if I could find it elsewhere. I got my ring Christmas eve, and couldn't wait to rush back to my dress. The day we went and looked at the ranch Margaret and I decided to go dress hunting. We went to a store in downtown Vancouver and we left pretty fast, they didn't have anything I liked. So, we decided to venture down to Clackamas to see if it was there and try it on at least. We got there and it was still in the window! I was so excited! And, better yet, it was 30% off! So I tried it on! It took up the whole dressing room, so trying it on behind a curtain was a challenge. I didn't want to give anyone a show. ha ha. I came out and Margaret said it was perfect! It was too big so it has to be altered. We put it on layaway. I cant wait to wear it! No pictures! It's a surprise!

Finding the right spot.

We always wanted to get married at Timberline lodge, and I really wanted to snowboard in my wedding dress. unfortunalty the price of such a wedding was way out of the question. So, we started thinking of other options. We knew it would be an outside wedding no matter what and where we decided on. I started looking around online and finally found one we both agreed on. Wind Mountain Ranch in the Columbia Gorge. About 15 minutes from Bryan's moms house in Stevenson. We took a day off and drove out to look at it. Accompanied by Bryans mom, sister and cousins from Alaska, and Margaret and Andrew. Everyone loved it. It is so gorgeous! We get the ranch house for the night, people can camp (which is good for the drinkers).
There's a tent and all the tables and chairs we need.
We get the place from 7am till 11 am the next day (reception
has to end by 11pm). It has Horse shoe pits( Bryan loves that part).
And theyre pretty easygoing. We just have to clean the place up
by 11 am.
So here are some pictures from their website.

The proposal.

It was Christmas eve, 2009.

We were at Grandma Judy's for Christmas eve in the middle of the program.

Misty told everyone Bryan wanted to sing a song. I looked over at Kam and said

"What? He doesn't sing!" Bryan came out to the middle of the living room and stood in

front of me and told everyone " I know you really want to hear me sing, but, I'm sorry to dissapoint you all." Then he turned around pulled the open ring box (upside down, he was nervous) out of his pocket got on on knee and asked "will you marry me?" Then Stef yelled "Does this mean you're not going to sing to us?" haha. And I of course said yes to him. And everyone started humming hear comes the bride, and clapping/cheering. And, the whole time, Aunt Kathy had my mom on speaker phone so she got to hear the whole thing!

How we met.

Bryan worked at The Zone (underaged dance club).

We met my senior year (2005) when my friends and I went dancing every weekend.

I mouthed off to him one time, and he tried to kick me out for it (I told him go back to baby sitting the kids.) I ignored his request to follow him outside and he got called off to do something, so, I was safe. haha. After I graduated I went dancing more and more, and eventually we would hang out with a big group of people from the club at Sharis in Jantzen beach after the club was closed for the night. A few parties and late nights at Shari's and we decided to give it a shot. And, now it's 2010 and we're getting married!
